Hi Leanne,
Upon re-reading some of the past enries I came across this entry and said a prayer for your well being and your ability to control the pain. I hate that we weren't able to sit and chat for, this can be and is beneficial in this fight. I can be reached possibly more readily through RSDandyou.com. The moderators may remove the address posted here but of not look me up under the same avatar. I hope the new year brings more success in this fight and you realize more victories than ever before. May the Lord bless you, gojogo.

Hi Gdgjgd, please forgive me if i have your screename wrong. My memory don't last that long. You mentioned in one of your replies that there was a letter to legislators on this site. Could you please tell me how to get to it. I'm in need of reaching my congressperson, major, legislators and/or anyone that would listen.

Your reply would be greatly appreciated. Terbas

Hi Terbas, there is a couple of letters on the thread called "Publicizing about RSD", you have to look at the posts that are written a couple of pages back< I posted the letter I posted to my congressman, and there are a couple that were posted by some other members... Feel free to use my letter, just remove my personal info, and good luck on the letter writing campaign. If you will let me know how it went. Many blessings g0j0g0...

My heart truely goes out to you . I also was diagnosed with RSD in 2006. but it is in my wrist and is slowly traveling throughout my left side. I had 10 Ganglion Blocks which gave me some relief for about 3 mos or so... I also have taken many medications but really haven't had much success with them. I am patiently awaiting surgery soon. Hopefully I will be able to have it so I can get some kind of comfort. Please let me know what is happening with yours.
God Bless you and good luck.
Sincerely,
Vincenza Kenner (Vicki)

Hi Vicky, and here is hoping all is well. I don't know what type of surgery you are going to have, but allow me to say PLEASE be careful and resesrch every type of surgery that is being offered. Most are not effective and actually cause more pain overall. I had the neuro nerve ablation sympathectomy or radio frequency ablation; both the same. This is where they blast the central path of the nerve with a lazer or high intensity radio frequency that is designed to deaden the cenrtal path of the nerve. The benefit is marked pain relief, the down side is if it fails you are relegated to more intense pain overall, with more intense flare ups that are more difficult to control and your pain levels are much higher, again much more difficult to control. The success rate is around 20-35% with a failure rate on the other end; 65-80%. I have talked to several that have had the procedure my self included that have failed, and only one that has realized success. So again please be careful and research, research, and research the procedure. You will not be sorry for your efforts. Many blessings, gojogo...
