RSD and Knots

Post a new topicby Truth Seeker on Sun Jun 28, 2009 2:13 am

I have mentioned in numerous posts, that for the first four years of my RSD I had severe vision changes which allowed me to see things I should not have been able to and here is another story related to that.
After numerous requests, the orthopedic surgeon finally send me for physio, but the clinic he had suggested was absolutely terrible, therefore I found one on my own.
The owner of the second clinic was fabulous, she had well over thirty years of experiences in her field, she was open minded, compassionate and communicated well over and above the call of duty, which encouraged me to be open and honest as well.
My treatments were based upon interferential currents, but at that time I had absolutely no knowledge about electricity and in hindsight I can say with certainty, that I would never have such treatments again, however, my point is as follows.
I am always early for appointments or anything else for that matter, but one day I began to walk around in the clinic and noticed a machine sitting in a corner, out of curiosity I asked what that machine was all about and was told that they would not use this on me, because it goes to deep.
My mind began to race, the RSD was at such a deep level already, that I was willing to try anything.
I requested that we try this machine and I was shown where the on/off switch was, just in case this was to strong for me.
No more than five minutes later, I had to shut it off, the pain got worse instantly.
Now, I realise, how difficult it must be to believe that I could see things I should not have, but that does not change the facts and this most certainly is not meant to scare you.
While this machine was turned on, I focused on the bottom of my injured foot and what I saw was mind boggling, there were knots everywhere.
My mind instantly went to cancer, but I quickly pushed that thought out of my mind.
I was beginning to understand why there was so much pressure in my foot, the constant pull, the shifting, the cross wiring, the shocks etc. I also began to understand why I had so many calcium deposits on the outside of foot, some of them sharp like drills, which ruined many insoles of my shoes by literally punching holes into them, mind you, my shoes for the past thirteen years have been open toes, open heel, summer as well as winter, closed in shoes are still impossible for me to wear.
When something creates knots in our foot, it only stands to reason, that twisting would move higher and higher, but there is good news.
Through the power within my own brain and the guidance of the Almighty, the knots are releasing, I can literally feel every move. I am not sure how much longer I will have to deal with this or what the final outcome will be.
I still believe that RSD is like a Tornado, it has to ride itself out before it loses its power.
Granted, I will never regain my lost years, but I would not trade them for the knowledge I have gained.
