RSD-Where to go for helpI broke my shoulder in 5 places in April, 2007 and was the diagnosed with RSD in May. I have been seeing a doctor since April and have been in occupational and physical therapy since then. My hand will not close. It is still a little swollen and I just learned to write all over again. Has anyone experienced this and has your hand gotten any better. I am starting to get really worried that my hand will not come back.
Re: RSD-Where to go for helpEveryone's recovery and progression is different. My foot was swollen over twice it's size for over 3 months and it still swells often. It would really be nice if everyone's RSD was the same! You're really lucky to have been diagnosed so soon after getting it, I had it for almost a year before we knew what was wrong with me! Good luck!
Re: RSD-Where to go for helpI AGREE WITH THE OTHER ENTRY, WE ALL ARE DIFFERENT EXCEPT FOR THE NAME AND THE PAIN. WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO BE ABLE TO HELP YOU BETTER. DO NOT GIVE UP ON IT THOUGH. THIS INTERNET IS A GOD SEND. THERE IS A SITE CALLED RSDSUPPORT. THERE IS A WOMAN THERE HAS HAS A LIST OF DOCTORS FROM EVERY STATE. YOU NEED TO READ THE BLOGS. YOU CAN ALSO CONTACT HER AND SHE WILL ASK YOU FOR YOUR CITY AND STATE AND SHE WILL GIVE YOU WHAT SHE HAS. I CANNOT REMEMBER THE WOMANS NAME BUT IF YOU CONTACT "MEME" SHE IS IN CHARGE OF THE SITE AND SHE CAN TELL YOU WHOM YOU NEED TO CONTACT. IT IS WORTH A TRY. DO NOT GIVE UP, REMEMBER WE ALL ARE HERE FOR YOU IN ANY WAY WE CAN BE. BEST OF LUCK.

Re: RSD-Where to go for helpAnother good site to visit (often!) is RSDHope.org. There is SO much information there it can be a little overwhelming at first but in time it will help you cope with your RSD. They have put me in touch with many people in my area with RSD and our first Support Group meeting is later today in my home! I've made so many new friends and I have a new outlook on life now! It's just simply AMAZING! Make sure you take the 'guided tour' through their website first and then just have fun! You won't regret it! Then make sure to pass the word on! Good Luck! ~anita~
