PLM (Periodic Limb Movement Disorder)My teenage son has severe PLM. It’s the most pitifult thing I’ve ever seen. He gets to sleep quickly but jerks all through the night and it looks as though he’s been in a war with his sheets all wrapped around him. He’s exhausted during the day, sleeping during class and anywhere he can (jerks in naps too). It pains me to watch it.
Because of this, it has an effect on his psyche. I would bet if I could get him quality sleep that he would feel much better mentally. ...Read the full article
Re: PLM (Periodic Limb Movement Disorder)Hello my name is sheila, i have had RLS and PLM all my life. I did not know there was anything that could be taken for it until a few yers ago. I had to go to a sleep clinic and they did diagnose me as having both RLS AND PLMD.. they just gave me ambien to help me sleep. well it did help me sleep but i was still kicking and my husband could not get to sleep because of it.. So i finaly got on requip.. It has helped me sleep and him too.. I have this in the day time as well and since i cant realy relax any during the day because i cant sit down and rest at all i am exahusted .. If i try to lay down and take a nap during the day i have RLS that jumps in bed with me .. lol.. requip does help for the Kicking ... just my two cents.. sheila
