Unsure and scared

I have yet to be diagnosed with anything but from my recent experience I am certain something is amiss.
I went to a well known establishment to have my blood drawn for some tests, I was fasting and it is not unusual for me to faint while having my blood drawn. I am used to this and although I did not enjoy the spells, I know when I am going to faint and to let the attendants know to lie me down prior to going under for my safety.
There was a distinct difference this time, upon waking I was told...Read the full article

I just had this same thing happen to my son who has NEVER passed out before. He has had blood drawn numerous times and other procedures done involving needs. It was almost the same case as yours. He had just got done having blood drawn and all the sudden he started seizuring. His body tightened up and started the jerking motion. His eyes were wide open and his jaw was very tight and clenched. His face was as though it was pulled to his right side and he made a loud groaning sound. When he came to it was like he was startled. He has no recollection of what happened or where he was at. Then when we thought he was ok we had him sit back up and he had another one before we even had him fully upright. The same thing happened that happened the first time around. I have never been so frightened in my life. If you get any answers as to what happened in your case or what direction I should go with this please let me know. I know there is something wrong. His sister passes out when she sees needles and she comes to very fast and is able to move on as though nothing happened. My son wasn't able to do that. He was very dizzy and really nauseated. It is a day later and he still has the dizziness and nausea. I welcome any information you can offer me.

I just wanted to update everyone on my sons develpments since I last wrote....I found out the reason my son was siezuring was because he was actually having an allergic reaction to his acne medication he has just recently started taking. Prior to the seizures he had headaches and nausea. The doctors kept asking us if there was anything that had changed with him and we told them about the acne meds and they kept telling us that the medication he was on wouldn't cause that kind of reaction. So, on my own I took him off the meds....no seizures for months....then, I decided I was going to put him back on it to see if anything happened....he began seizuring again..I took him to another doctor who confirmed my suspicions. He was one of the researchers on this medication and said, although rare, it does happen....my son was one of those rare occasions. The name of the medication was minocycline. So, for those of you who are having unexplained seizures that have come on for no apparent reason...take a close look at the meds you are taking or something else in your life that you may recently have changed....you could very well be having an allergic reaction to something as my son did.
