Re: The Use of Medical Marijuana for Seizure Disorder(s)I recently went into the Medical Services Library, here at the University of Alberta, and much to my surprise there were very few controlled studies on the subject. What little I did find however demonstrates clearly that there "...is no conclusive evidence of marijuana reducing seizures in epileptic patients."
With this said however, there were instances whereby patients (less than 5% in each study) claimed that they felt that their "seizure threshold" had increased as a consequence of the marijuana thus leaving them less susceptible to having seizures. This tells me that marijuana, like so many prescription drugs, do have some anti-epileptic properties in some patients. I would be very interested in hearing back from you and would be willing to share with you my own personal experience regarding this subject.
