I recently went into the Medical Services Library, here at the University of Alberta, and much to my surprise there were very few controlled studies on the subject. What little I did find however demonstrates clearly that there "...is no conclusive evidence of marijuana reducing seizures in epileptic patients."

With this said however, there were instances whereby patients (less than 5% in each study) claimed that they felt that their "seizure threshold" had increased as a consequence of the marijuana thus leaving them less susceptible to having seizures. This tells me that marijuana, like so many prescription drugs, do have some anti-epileptic properties in some patients.
