unknown sezuriesI am 35 years old about 15 years ago i started having spells of shakiness and callapsing i seen a neuroligts and they thought it was ms but all the test showed nothing, well the spells stops and a couple of years later they came back this time i went to see a mental health dr. i was diaqnosed bipolar and panic disorder. The drugs they used for bipolar made my sezuries worse..so i stoped all medications. then i did something bad i couldnt deal with the panic attacks so i started using illigal drugs, first for 4 years was doing herion, the only time i had sezuiers doing this was when i wouldnt do it for a couple of days..well i couldnt afford to do it anymore so i went on methadone, i still after stoping had no sezuires and then all of a sudden someone introduced me to cocaine every time i didit i had a sezuire.. so about 3 months later i stoped it..this is when the episodes got bad, I asked to be put back on sezurie meds and xanax i had no problems for a while the i started to have them everyday. so i went back to see nero dr. he said all test where fine except for a small speck on right side of my brain but he said nothing to worry about. They stoped again,, but now there back,, I am not sure where to go now since everyone tells me there is no reason for me to be having them.i have all kinds off sezuires not just one and it cant be from drug use because i had them before that. can someone tell me what i should do?? I am taking depakote and ativan sometimes they work sometimes they dont
Re: unknown sezuriesI started having seizures about 20 months ago. I'm 49 now. I was diagnosed as Epilepsy with Partial Complex seizures. I started meds and nothing stopped the seizures. I asked all of my doctors if it could possibly be hormones, absolutely not. Some years back I had ben sent to see an Endocrinologist because of fatigue, etc. She did nothing for me. I felt that what I was now experiencing was a progression still from that time period.
I finally went into the hospital for a video monitored EEG. I told my doctor when I needed to go to the hospital because I know that I always have my most 'predictable' seizures during a certain time period. I went in and within 24 hours I started having these seizure episodes. The next morning, they told me that I was indeed having seizures but they were not starting with my brain waves. They were beginning somewhere in my body (which is what I had been telling them form the beginning). All blood work would come back normal. I kept reading on-line and I finally started reading about saliva hormone testing. Bloodwork showed my hormones to be 'normal' in my blood, but what isn't taken into account with bloodwork is that our body needs the hormones to be available for it to draw from. The saliva will show what hormones are available for our bodies and thus what you might be lacking. My hormone patterns was/is all out of line. I started treating it and I have had 2 months out of 3 with no seizures now. It takes some time but it might be worth checking in to.
