Untreated seizures

Post a new topicby bulah on Wed May 20, 2009 5:30 pm

I know a ten year old girl who has frequent (daily) petite mal seizures -she loses awareness for a few seconds, eyes flutter, and roll back in her head. Her parents have chosen not to medicate. Is it common practice not to medicate? Is it dangerous for her or others not to medicate?

Seizues are new to me! I have received the medinr for x 8 years for RSD. However since I started my job and just found out taw sewer piper ran right under my feet (2-1/2 years). I may have sobjected to methane gas poisoning of which nobodr knows those effects.

Anyway, I would not play around with not taking the meds. Your daughter may have to changr medicaeions, increae mrdications or add other seizure meds to what she already takes. This would br throughout her life!

The thing u don.t want to happen is for her to take a grand mal seizure (I don't want scare you howeve this what killed my brother. Also bet 2-3 opinions (something I finally am learning!!

Good luck and let me know how you make out no matter what decision u make!

Enjoy your weekend!
