zoloft and seizures?

Post a new topicby bykerboy on Mon Mar 24, 2008 12:27 am

hi i am an 18 year old male and am in good physical condition. a couple of months ago a started taking zoloft for depression. So far so good, it has helped with depression but the questuion i have is that the other day i was walking down the sidewalk and felt dizzy then all i remember was waking up in an ambulance with people telling me i just had a seizure and i was on my way to the hospital. could the seizure possibly be caused from the zoloft? no one has ever had a history of even a single seizure in my family so im kinda stumped. anyone have any thoughts?

yes the Zoloft could have casued the sz. Zoloft is in a class of drugs known as the SSRIs or Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors. They are usually not good drugs to use in combo with epilepsy drugs or with the person with the disorder itself. I spent a great deal of time in college taking 7 or 8 classes on drugs and did many term papers on epielspy and the drugs for it adn stuff like that, but again I am NO doctor. They interact with alot fo drugs used adn withthe disordertiself

Ihave togo let my dog out, ia msorry.
