Did your sleepiness come on suddenly? Not too long ago I saw an episode of Mystery Diagnosis about a teenage girl who suddenly starts to have bizarre episodes where she sleeps for 10 days straight. I'm sorry I can't remember what the diagnosis was, but the episode is called "Bizarre Sleeping Disorder" or possibly "Sleeping Beauty" and is supposed to air again on June 15, 2008 3pm on the Discovery Channel.

I hope you will get a chance to see the episode. Maybe it will give you some ideas to take to your doctor about how to treat your condition. Idiopathic isn't really a diagnosis per se, it is a medical way of saying "we're out of ideas" It doesn't mean there isn't a cause, only that it hasn't been figured out yet. Keep looking for answers, do a new search from time to time, because the Internet gets more powerful and there's more medical information out there every day.

Glad you finally got to the right kind of expert who could begin to understand your symptoms. I hope you keep getting better.
