Sleep Disorders

I am 60 years old. Have had insomnia since age 34. I’ve taken numerous sleep medications since that time. The medication every couple of months, has a paradoxical affect on me. I’ve taken several pills at one time and absolutely nothing has happened. It’s like my stystem locks up and doesn’t produce what it is to make me sleepy.
I stay awake for days at a time with almost no sleep. I reason I say almost is because my brain falls asleep for a few seconds a time.
