Night Terrors

My 71 year old husband has had night terrors during all of our 38 year marriage, however, they are getting worse and I am afraid he will hurt me or himself. He has had hallucinations with eyes wide open, he thrashes to the point of torn sheets, he has thrown himself off the bed onto the floor to protect himself from an imagined harm during a dream. Well I suffer from the same thing and its not that you must learn to tell yourself that it is a dream but more or less you must know that its a dream..dont just tell your husband its a dream...make him believe it... i sometimes have the most horrible dreams that i cant even breathe and to where i turn purple...but my mother and friends tell me its just a dream...its up to us to believe it though!
