10 year old daughter with seizures

Post a new topicby robitzer8 on Wed Sep 09, 2009 9:03 pm

Hello, my name is Lacy and I have a 10 year old daugther that has been having seizures for 4 years. We have taken tegratal, keppra and topomax and none of them stopped the seizures. As of January 2009 we stopped all medication, due to the fact that topomax caused a processing disorder. All was going great. We still has small seizure but didn't have the grand mal until August 21, 2009. In the last 19 days we have had 7 grand mal seizures I am not sure what is bring them on. we are on our way to more speicalist.

My question is that she is having head aches, complaining about being feeling "sick" all the time. She is also no sleeping every well. Since I do not have seizures and I do not understand what is happening in her body.

We have been told she has Right Frontal lobe seizure, what exactly that means I am unsure. She has different seizures. Sometime it effects her speak, sometime vision, she stares in space and then she does has the grand mals.

She is currently in speak and has been for year because of a hearing problem, she speak is now fine however she is in speak for the processing disorder.

If anyone can tell me if I should be doing more please help me out. She has had several EEG, one MRI and Cat Scan. EEG state that she has seizure activitiy every 4 minutes, don't really know what that means. I am changing doctors because I just do not feel the one that I have is explaining the problems to me to my satification.
