I fell asleep at work

Post a new topicby MargoK on Wed Dec 31, 2008 7:55 pm

I often get very tired at work. I'll kind of nod off, but since I work with students one-on-one I try really hard not to do this. Two weeks ago I actually fell asleep. I found myself saying weird things to my students - once something about a cat - and it was like I woke up from a dream. When I realized where I was I couldn't believe it. Both students I did this with said, "Huh?"

I'm going back to work on Monday and I'm scared it's going to happen again. I'm going to have a sleep study done for sleep apnea, so I could have that (very possibly). I just don't know what to do since I've never fallen asleep while actually teaching.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Margo

Am very sympathetic. I have been doing this daily after eating in fact comatosed holding a cup of tea . Having to delay eating as thereafter like zombie with extreme weakness and confusion do dare not drive and totally dependent on car as mobility problems .Had cardiac arrest 2 years ago and abnormal sleep studies but because falling within normal range ignored. The same happened with apnea which can cause cardiac/neuro problems .Then when I go to bed wak ing up every 2/3 hours. Used to be the opposite so suspect hormones and allergy[ transfat] as after purchased food with no chemicals/ additives slightly better. Had numerous diabetic tests It is on both sides of family on one side the insulin one but am not but have CFS / fibromyalgia and low thyroid.
