blood pressure fluctuation

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 09, 2002 8:10 pm

I am a 44 year old male with a C3-C4 since 1977. My blood pressure has been fluctuating to extremes. It has been as high as 220/200 and as low as 39/26. It has dropped 70 pts. or more in five minutes or less several times. Lately it has been staying in the 80/60 to 50/30 range and I become very disoriented and dizzy.

Is there anything that will help correct this? Possibly medication and/or therapy? Will pneumatic tet hose work?

Any help and info you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Hopefully your medical doctor has done a complete work-up for causes of the hypotension. Medictions such as Proamatine can be helpful, as well as the compression hose, increasing fluid, mild caffeine increase etc. However, monitoring for extremes of hypertension on these therapies will be essential. Your doctor would be able to determine cause and treatment.
