scar tissue build up at l4 & l5

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Feb 27, 2002 12:39 am

Do I have any options other that pain medicine and or a spinal cord stimulator. I am taking 30mg methadone, 300mg neurontin and 4mg zanafex which is not working. My doctor will not give me oxconti for some reason. I have had this problem since 1997 and had a operation on l1-l6 decompression and 2 herniated disc.in 2000. It helpped until the scar tissure built up and started pressing on my spinal cord. Seams like something could be done. any suggestion. Thank Blacksheep

Without knowing your detailed problems or medical history, I cannot really determine what your options are. It sounds like you are on a combination of therapy at this time. Your doctor might consider increasing the Neurontin, or trying medications such as Amitriptyline, Topamax, Lamictal etc if the pain would seem to be appropriately treated with those type of drugs.
