Re: Angry - Head Trauma and VertigoHi Chris, I too have a closed head injury. I went thru almost 2 years of balance therapy. I had an excellent ENT do all the vistibular test. I was told my eustachion tube collapsed. That there was bruising etc. It sounded like clicking in the ear drum & thumping along with sharp stabbing pains. I went on some water pills to help dry it out. Combined with my allergy meds to keep from getting any new problems which would make it worse. It's been 3 years and I still have balance problems but you must challenge your vistibular system to correct it. My eyes would move like crazy when the therapist layed me down & turned my head. One time I had this done & my eyes stopped right durring the head rotation & it really does work. Those crystal get displaced & have to me moved back in.
I was rear ended on the freeway, last car stopped in a back up. The car came in at 60mph ran me into a cement barrier, my seat broke when I hit the wall and knocked me out. I also have a double vision problem I am still working on. You are young & keep trying to get better. My advice is to slow down & work little at a time. Can't climb the mountain in a day. I still do not drive I try a little at a time & I will get there. I am the Turtle in the race & will finish somehow. I went for a 3T MRI and it showed ALL my damaged areas. Deal with one area at a time. I have several areas of injury. It suffer balance, cognitive, seizures, vision, thinking & behavioral problems great fatigue & chronic pain. I was told I would have been better off getting the broken bones. Just stay positive, take your time & there will be some improvements. Take care
