I was a high functioning, educated and experienced expert in information technology governance until I had my last motorcycle accident. After three weeks of amnesia my self awareness returned, but my balance, hearing, vision and sense of smell and taste were all adversely affected. So are my emotions. I had a TBI last september and have lost the sence of smell as well... My ENT Dr. said it was most likely from the shearing of the nerve endings that go throught the skull into the frontal sinus. He said that it might not come back and I would have to learn to deal with this loss.

It has been about 6 months and I am hoping he is wrong.

Have you regained any smell?

What have you been told about it ever returning..??

I agree....I am finding it hard to enjoy food without smell/taste...All I get is sweet, sour, salty....

I also have a bad taste/smell that is pretty much constant...Do you have this as well?
