Vagus Nerve Stimulation

Hi, Today my neurologist suggested that I get a vns. I just dont think that I am that bad. I have been going to him for about 10 years. He is a respectible neuro out of NYU so I do trust his judgement but I just dont know. I have generalized epilepsy I mostly get my seizures at night. I have had them during the day. One of which was a serious car accident. I have been on many meds and I have sleep apnea. THe dr today told me that I make him nervous because I am starting to have them way too often. I am reading the side effects people are having when this thing goes off and I dont want that for the rest of my life. I am really torn. Any ideas? Judy
