Re: balance problems while drivingI am currently experiencing this problem. It originally started in OCT 2008 but seemed to get better over the last few months and I am back with all the symptoms. I have done all possible things - pcps, internal medicine doctors, neurologists, ear specialist, gyns (to see if its a harmonal imbalance) - but I have gotten no where till date.
I am asking to all those of you have posted their comments in this thread - Has anyone receoved from this? I am greatly appreciate it if you could please let me know what the diagnosis was, if you did get better. That will give me some sense of direction. Thanks!
Re: balance problems while drivingHi,
I have been having the same problem for the last 8 months. It is NOT driving anxeity. It is a vestibular disorder. It can happens to any one, any good driver. I have an excellent driving record, never had any problems but started feeling imbalance all of a sudden while driving. I would feel like the car is going to topple over to the left, especially when the road curves to the right. The imbalance and lack of control naturally causes panic and anxeity. I have tried all possible avenues...neurologists, orthopedic specialist (for the possibility of spondylosis that could be a cause of imbalance) ENT specialists, but everyone wanted to just put me on an anti-depressant and be done with me. No one has any interest in listening to my problems and treating me for the right one....until I found a really good PCP and the best specialist in the field of Otology. I have finally been diagnosed with vestibular migrane and hope to get better soon. So, if you are experiencing a the most weird driving problem, please see an Otologist asap. Here's a very useful website : www.vestibular.org There is a list of specialist on this website who will understand your problem very well. Thanks and goodluck!
