Re: Chronic VertigoMy vertigo stated years ago, I do not even remember exactly how long ago, but I do know it was over 5 years. I was diagnosed with Ménière disease.
I have found that some medications actually do help. I take two daily. Hydrochlorothiazide/Triamterene (HCTZ/Triamterene) which I have taken almost from the beginning and Klonopin (Clonazepam), which was added when the other didn't do the job properly. I have also found that Allegra helps when things get really out of hand.....it helps elevate the pressure on the ear drum, and balance things a bit. They say there are many things out there, but most are not approved in this country, so I will wait and see when they come up with. In the meantime I, like you, take things one day at a time. I have resorted to working from home, and only driving when I know I can get back or have another way to get home. Because missing several days of work a week due to not being able to drive was no longer an option, for myself and the company I worked for.
