I had surgery in July of 2009. A couple of weeks after the surgery I started being lightheaded, not able to stay focused on conversation and now I can add sleepiness to everything else. It’s been about 8 weeks and I’m still no better. I’ve seen an ENT and have been on prednisone and Valium. I don’t know where to go from here??? Can someone help me please.

I had the very same thing to happen to me. Had surgery in July and now it's almost November. Been to the ENT - going back 11/2 - they put me on Valium a month ago but not much help. Having a hearing test done 11/2. I read one response where they hit it on the mark...your eyes and ears have to work very very hard to try to keep your brain going. I feel like I'm on a constant boat that won't quit rocking and a "hum" in my ears that won't quit but it's all of the time (the hum). I work in the medical field and I feel like I'm getting no help and no answers....yet. Maybe Monday will bring about some answers. One thing though my mom and my sister both suffer from this too. Is this heriditary??
