passed out

I had had dizzy spells for years, but recently increased. Then got out of bed in the morning 5 days ago, made it to my door, then felt this heavy woosh through my head and all my muscles went limp. I didnt feel myself hit the floor, and I screamed as laying there spinning fast down what felt like a deep dark hole. My husband came in and tried to get me up, but I couldnt get up.
Went to er, had mri, and mra, and other than temporal lobe scarring which I knew I had, everything is fine there. ...Read the full article

Hi Jennifer, I am sorry about your bout with vertigo. I just found this forum because I have had a dizzy spell for the last few days and wanted to see what is going on . I am surprised it is sort of common with women over 50.

I have had this a couple of years ago. It lasted a day or two but it usually went away by noon and then in the morning it returned. It seems the same this time. I swear, this morning I thought it had gone away but when I came downstairs to the kitchen my head started to spin and I had to hold myself up not to fall. I was so scared. It went away after a minute but after that bout I am apprehensive it will come back. I was ok by noon again. I just hope tomorrow when I get up I wont feel bad. I definitely will go to the doctor if it continues. I really thought this morning I was having a stroke. Seems when I go down steps I am dizzy. In the morning I did a lot of bending over (cleaning out the cat litter boxes). That probably contributed to the spinning too.

I am wondering if it can be caused by what we eat? I take Blood pressure pills so I think bpressure is ok. Now I am worried I may have a brain tumor! I need to stop thinking about this. I dont want to pass out like you did so if this doesnt go away (I feel fine now), I will see the doc.

Hi,
I have had vertigo for several years off and on. Usually it disappears in 3 - 4 days, only now it does not want to go. I have it now for more than a week. Got some medication, anti-biotics and something else, it does not help.Living in Bali,Indonesian does not help either, as the medical situation here is not as good.
Hope that you feel better soon.
