I woke up and the room was spinning. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. -the spinning was making me nauseous. I was very hot, I started breathing really fast and heavy, hoping that I just needed more oxygen to my brain.
I have had some slight dizziness feeling, more like light-headed feelings lately, but nothing like this.
So overwhelming, so scary and strange. I stumbled to the computer and typed in ” woke up room spinning” and this site came up.

Last night I had my second encounter with a severe attack of vertigo. I thought I was dying. I had gotten out of bed to void and the whole world changed for the worst. My bath is small which is the only way I could have not fallen. I still some upper body strength. When the numbness, nausea, spinning and weakness subsided enough to sit up on my own I tried standing but my legs were terribly weak, barely able to stand at all. I crawled back in bed and thought for should I had had a transischemic attack. When I got the courage to get out of bed again and came together the more I thought about it the more it seemed like an event I suffered some months earlier at which time I just bent over as usual. What a terrible trip! The intermittent dizziness when turning my head right had all but disappeared and then recently in the throes of a cold syndrome the dizziness started to recur; then the spell early this morning. What a fright! Glad to realize it was not a TIA. My physician has offered nothing in the past; he just explained what had happened and painted a very bleak picture from the standpoint of any cure or available treatments. I am glad for your story. I will try some Benadryl OTC and see if that helps. Thanks again for listening and sharing.
