I had my first vertigo attack 7 yrs ago; I woke up in the AM with the room spinning like 100 mph. I couldn’t lift my head an inch. I was terrified; it was out of control experience. I was vomiting ; the EMT’s and police came and took me out of my house on a stretcher to the hospital where they gave me shots to reduce the severe spinning. I was home for 3 weeks; dizzy.
Went to neurological physical therapy after seeing ENT specialist. Diagnosed with benign positional vertigo calcium...Read the full article

HI! I woke up on Tues morning ,opened my eyes to find the room spinning at 100mph ,felt nauseaous, scared and wondered what had hit me and why.The rest of the day was spent trying to keep calm until 5pm to see my doctor.I could not keep food or liquid down, and felt awful. My GP> did a few routine tests and I was prescribed ant-sickness tablets after the diagnosis of Vertigo. I came accross this website and I am amazed to find so many people suffer from this, either short or long term. My main problem seems to be turning over in bed. I can't,because that really triggers the dizzyness and I now have to sleep well propped up with pillows, completely flat.I cannot bend down to pick anything up and even having a shower and washing my hair means I have to think about my movements. How long this is going to last no-one can say and from stories I have read this morning-who knows?

I've had vertigo for 16 years now - I was also told that the calcium crystals in my inner ear were dislodged. I went to the Cleveland Clinic for the same hot/cold running water through my ears - it was like being tortured. Also had a head scan. I cannot lie down flat at all. My vertigo kicked up this season - started with a head cold which apparently settled in my inner ear and caused the "crystals" to dislodge some how again. I went through the same testing you did with them "making" me dizzy by twisting my head from side to side. You would think with today's technology we could come up with a solution to this terrible problem. This is my first time on this site and it was nice to read that others have had very similar if not exact symptoms as me. My friends, family and co-workers have no idea what I've been living with for 16 years.
