Vertigo: Unknown Cause

Post a new topicby livingwith on Fri Mar 28, 2008 3:01 pm

In 2003 I was on vacation in FL when I had my first attack. All morning I’d been feeling nauseous and off. I was wasting time at a mall before catching a plane home when I got the spinning feeling.
I was rushed to the emergency room, given a heavy dose of Antivert and told I wasn’t cleared to fly for two days. I wasn’t going to argue, I was terrified.

Julie,

I can totally understand what you're going through as I just went through my first attack just a week ago...and still recovering from it. It's horrible to know that there really isn't any good cure for it or cause for it. I've been getting better by just doing some exercises that my doctor had given me. It wasn't immediate but much better than the antivert medication. I agree with you that accepting it is the hardest as there is no warning of an attack. I had heard some incidences that people only get one attack but others it's a reoccuring thing which is hard for me to swallow, hoping and praying that it never comes back for me.

Did you ever try to go to ENT (ear neck throat doctor)? My regular doctor had suggested I go see one for preventive steps. If you haven't, it doesn't hurt to get checked out.

Hope the days get better for you...
