Two months ago I had my first episode of vertigo. I woke up from sleep experiencing whirling and spinning sensation and nausea. I got up out of bed and woke my husband. Later in morning I went to the ER and I was told I had vertigo. The next day I was fine. Now, 2 mos. later,I am having vertigo symptoms again. Karen,
Your explanations have been right on target! My vertigo lasts from a few hours to three days! My "eyes" start, and I get a low rated headache (motrin does the trick), and than vertigo hits hard, with violent vomiting, and cold sweats. I can't seem to focus and my concentration takes a turn for the worse. I never know what will trigger this mind spinning ailment. It creeps on soft feet, and puts me down with force that leads me to sitting up in bed with a cold compress on my eyes, and a dark room with absolute no noise. Family physician has perscribed the usual for the motion sickness (as they call it), and antivomiting pills. With meds the vertigo will subside slowly on its own merit of time, it leaves me worn out for 2 days after! My head is as exactly you had explained it, leaving you in a "mental fog" for a few days after. Before you know it, a whole week as passed you didn't even know it! Thank you for your posting, it seems better to know someone else has experienced the same actions of this nasty ailment. People seem to shrug it off as "what a drama queen!" They do NOT have a clue what WE suffer!

Feel better, and thank you for making ME feel better, that I am not the only one that has the same symptoms.
