Dizziness after accidentWas in a car accident where the vehicle flipped. I was the only on injured and was diagnosed with cervical strain and a broken finger. I have noticed that as the neck and head pain have subsided, it is being replaced with stronger and stronger dizziness This started a few weeks ago. It is to the point that turning my head or body more than an inch or so is nearly knocking me over. Because of this I move slowly. Occasionally it will get bad enough to make me ill. Any suggestions?
Re: Dizziness after accidentAfter a motor vehicle accident, patient will experience dizziness especially with a positional component that can take a few months at times to subside. It is thought that the tiny crystals we have in our inner ears meant to maintain balance with head positions, fall off and form a sludge in the canals. I would recommend inner ear testing at the Ear, nose and throat doctor's office and neurologic evaluation to determine if any other injury occurred to the nervous system. Depending upon the inner test results, further therapy is available.
