It all started for me since July 2009, having headaches every day with fatigue and blacking out 2-3 times a day. Had bloodpressure checked along with bloodtests done and Catscan done as well, all these tests came back normal. end of august, I was still having all the same symptons but then started having a big pressure in my left ear along with trouble hearing, and then the ringing noise started.
I pretty much need my hearing, I work in a call center answering inbound calls. So I was having troubles with my right ear as well, everything sounded echoey as if I was in a tunnel.
I went back to my family doctor, which referred me to get a hearing tests done, waited over a month. By that timeframe my symptons started to get worse. I had to go see my family doctor again to give me something for the dizziness and sickness I was feeling, it wouldnt go away. I was given (Novo-Betahistine) which didnt exactly do anything for my symptons. I finally got my hearing test done. I have loss 50% of my hearing in the left ear and partial hearing loss in the right. I was advised I would need to see an ENT. Therefore went back to my doctor again regarding symptons were getting worse, meds were not helping. My doctor then put me off work until this gets resolved. I got into the ENT the next day. The specialist advised my left ear had a broken bone inside which was to amplify the sound for hearing. Well, Im not sure how the broken bone happened but I did have a car accident 3 years ago, had Whiplash with my accident, So The ENT Specialist said the whiplash may have caused the ear bone to weaken and then over time it wore away.But the other symptons Im having were probable Menieres Disease. He had to get a Catscan done of my ears. I had the exray done, there were no deformalaties. As of oct 27, he gave me new medications for (Prednisone ) Just started taking these medications, havent seen any changes as of yet. Just having troubles sleeping at night time now. Well, Im going Nov 5 to have injections of steroids in the ears. I was advised to have more hearing tests done and a balance test done as well. Im waiting on the hospital to callback to schedule my appointments which feel like a forever process. In the meantime, Im feeling frustrated with feeling dizzy 24/7 and tired. Im not able to have my left ear resolved until my balance is corrected first. Im not sure if anyone heard of a broken bone in the ear, but if so it would be great to know what symptons others had with it.
