Vertigo

I had my first horrendous experience with Vertigo three days ago. I had all the ususal symtoms, dizziness vomitting, even a trip to the ER in an ambulance. I am on medication and feel a bit better but still feel light headed. My question is, can I go on a boat in the next few weeks? I have read the symtoms subside but never really go away. Is it risky to go on a boat so soon after the onset ? I appreciate any helpful advice as soon as possible. Thanks and have a great day.
