Help what sort of vertigo is this?

Post a new topicby louie123 on Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:50 am

Is this labyrinthitis or BBPV? oR what
Hi there I am new to these boards and just wondered if anyone had experienced anything else like this.

So the story goes, approx 3 months ago while at work I was talking to someone and i felt that i was going to start a spin although it only lasted 3-4 seconds I was scared and put it down to a cold I had the preceding week. Then at the weekend I felt sick all saturday but fine then up to tuesday morning. I was driving to work and I stopped at a junction, then it happened, I spun to the left and it would n't stop it lasted approx 20-25 seconds until I managed to get my vision to stabilise (I ask myself why did it wait until I had stopped driving)
I continued my journey and went to work. From that day, and it has been 12 weeks since, I have felt a constant dizziness and drunkness that just won't go away. At first with other symptoms such as sleeping 10 hours a day when I usually sleep for 5, nausea on and off.

Has anyone been through the same thing any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Please go to a chiropractor. If you've never been to one talk with a friend and get a reference, but go. I had vertigo years ago. I had never even heard of it before. I went to the doctor. They treated it with the Antivert, all it did for me is make me sleep.I didn't need help with sleeping! Then they sent me to the dentist for TMJ. Weeks later my vertigo was still present. Finally someone told me to try their chiroprator. It worked on the first treatment. And over the years (15) I've had to go for vertigo symptoms twice. When your neck is out your body will do some crazy things!

Well, I've had benign possional vertigo and i know it isn't that. I now have constant vertigo, sounds very much like what you have. I been to an ENT and had many tests run. They cannot find anything. Very frustrating. I don't know if a chirprator would help or hinder your situation. I would see an ENT first. Could be a serioius infetion in your inner ear. Hopefully you will find some answers, unlike alot of us on this site. Good Luck

Hi
I also feel like sleeping 10 hours a day. But if u sleep like that u will feel again sleeping. So better to avoid sleeping like that. Sleeping 6 hours a day is good.
