HI! I am 49 yrs. old and I have had this problem for almost 2 yrs.. 2 yrs. ago I got a bad staff infection, I think MSRA?? For 8 mo's. I had a pic line into my heart and received vancomyacin(?) IV's twice a day. My heart started acting up and they took it out and put me on oral antibiotics for awhile. I have heard that high doses of this drug can cause vertigo Then within 2 mo's we found a plumbing leak in our brand new house that had been slowly leaking into the wall between the floors in the spare bathroom we never use since the house was built 2yrs.ago. Needless to say I had a severe fungal infection and my house and had to have 1/3 of it gutted. I received treatment for the mold illness and seemed to be doing better after about 6 mo's. Then the vertigo happened. I don't know what started it. But I have not driven for over 2yrs. I haven't really left my home except to the DR's/ hospitol or the occasional ride with my husband to the grocery store. Due to all these things happening to me. My regular Dr. had put me off for months saying it would get better. Than started me on meclizine 25mg twice a day. No help. So he pushed it up to 4 times a day. No good. He sent me to an ENT who took all of 5 min. to look at my chart and say he thought it was neurological. But he did say I could go have an ENG test. So far ins, hasn't ok'd it.I went back to my md and he was using a pen lite to check my eyes and when he came toward my eyes it felt like my stomach was botteming out, I almost threw up on him. Then he said it was migaine problems and to see a neurologist. I saw a neurologist and he said he thought it was Meneirs. He has scheduled an MRI and put me on Clonazepam 1 mg twice a day. It seems to make it better but wears off if I don't take the second dose on time. Also it makes me very tired. Also waiting for ons. to ok MRI Any suggestions????
