Vertigo

I've been suffering from vertigo for almost 2years now.I know what caused it an ear infection that damaged my inner ear.Went through all the tests.It seems to get bad when I go to different elevations (bus rides,elevators,etc.....)Man i wouldn't wish this on anyone.Feels like being drunk all the time.It's like my brain's swirling around.No fun.
Anyways let me know if you guys have similar symptoms...

Since last Friday, I started to have symptoms of vertigo that is everything was spinning around me. Before that, I had lightheaded and dizziness symptoms for about three months. I went to the doctor three times: blood test, scan et all. However, this recent vertigo really scared me a lot.

In the past, about 37 years ago, I had ear infection, mastoid, so maybe that is one of the causes for vertigo.

Hi!
I am Maria I have the same symptoms, and suffering around 7 years. I am really of trying to find the doctor that can give the right any treatment. Only today I started to look seriously here in the internet, searching for information, treatment or cure for vertigo. It has given me joy to find this website, and find these people with my same condition. It is horrible to speak of this condition with anyone, because most people do not understand how it really feels to suffer with these symptoms.
I hope we can help eachother.

Hi Nadir,
I'm doing alot of research on how to cure vertigo....Has to be one....I'll post it on here when i find one.

Hi Maria,
it does help to have support from other people especially since doctors don't take Vertigo seriously.
I've seen a few doctors they've said different things.I've seen one specialist and he said it goes away over time.....Make sure to stay active and rest when needed.Eat healthy foods also.

hey my name is nichola im new here, i 2 myself suffer with dizzinss/vertigo/off balance, ive been having it on off for 15 years im now 30, the problem is i 2 suffer with anxiety disorder 2, not a day goes by this dont efect my everyday lfe an scares me everytime i get it, the docs has always put i down 2 my anxiety but what bothersm is i can b relaxed watchig tv an the it feel like my head has thown back, no docs seemed 2 want 2 help me an jst wanted 2 give me anti-depressantswhich made symptoms worse, when i stand in ques it feels as ifim fallenkinda like im on a exculater any one gt this? alo i sometimes feels as if there is liquid roaming round my ears, ill b very greatful 4 any help any1 has as i have 4 children an it ills me 2 say icry infront of them nearly everyday cause i cannot cope with this, doc has now put me on betahistine hydrochloride for dizziness an vertigo which ive been taking for 3 days so fa no change, i feel i have a cold can that inhance vertigo symptoms?, course i also have health anxiety so i always sense the worst but surely after yrs on/off having thi if it was something serious i'd know by now???

hi nichola, i just got over strep throat infection....made my vertigo even worse....feels like falling off a building and makes heart beat fast.or standing on an escalator feeling happens too....i think the dizzyness causes anxiety...doctor finally prescribed ativan but it doesnt help much....i dont want to become dependant on it.Gotta keep hope alive that this will pass one day!

dear all;
I'm danial .. i just started fell dizziness for last week.. i thought i was high blood presure.. All test showing perfect except high cholestral. Doc suspect i'm getting vertigo. It's just suddently happen when i'm in the office. I fell like want to fall down.. Any special medication or treatment for this disease.

I do think having a cold would make it worse because its so related to the inner ear, and thats where colds create issues.
Good luck with it. I did some reading on this because my daughter had occaissional objective vertigo (when things move around you, as opposed to you doing the spinning). The medical site here talked about a pretty extensive range of tests to rule out some pretty serious causes - very scarey.
Do some reading on it on this site if you haven't already, its pretty good info.
Seems like could be so many things. All I can think is to strengthen the constitution against it, like making sure stomach flora is back up after taking antibiotices fo ra long time (you know like eathing yogurt for a year following. I think the air inside today's houses which are air tight and filled often with cleaning liquids and other poisons is ranked to be 5 to 10 times worse than the air outside the home. Go all natural and organic on your detergents, soaps, sprays, cleaning liquids - couldn't hurt!-)
