Peripheral vestibular disorder (vertigo)

Post a new topicby Jinga on Sat May 23, 2009 8:32 am

Hello. As far back as I can remember, I use to become dizzy, fatigued and sometimes lose my balance for no reason at all. I finally took some time to read up on dizziness That's when I found out about vertigo. A year ago, my ears became impacted which triggered some vertigo type symptoms. (mainly dizziness.) After I got my ears cleaned out, I thought that would be the end of my vertigo symptoms, but I think not.

Just yesterday ago, I experienced one of the worst episodes of vertigo ever. I was done playing video games and went to go shower. Just as soon as I was ready to step in the shower, I was overtaken by extreme dizziness It felt like a magnet was pulling my head to the right. It lasted for at least 2 minutes. I covered up and hurried out the shower room; grabbing at the center of my nose. I felt very nauseated, extremely dizzy, my nasal passages became congested, and I was motion sick. After I drunk some water, I decided to try the shower again. I normally love taking a nice warm shower, but I was still very dizzy, nauseated, I felt overheated and started to sweat. I had to stick my head out of the shower curtain a few times just to get some cool air to hit my face. After the shower, I went to my bed and laid flat on my face feeling very nauseated, fatigued, dizzy, and motion sick. My dad was on the computer listening to some NBA highlight reels. The sound of the basketball bouncing, and the sounds of sneakers skipping the court was unbearable. I covered my ears as tight as I could. Next, the light in my room was suddenly so bright. I placed a blanket over my eyes to conceal any light.

Earlier that day, my memory wasn't working well with me. I used two debit cards for two different purchases. Coming towards the end of my errands, I seriously forgot which card I had used the most. Another symptom that has always been...well, a pain in my neck...is this pain in my neck! My back is aching me at the moment, too. I wear glasses, but I also noticed that some days I would be straining my eyes (with my glasses on). Sleep was hard to gather. I decided to look up on vertigo again to see if I could find out what's really going on in me. I read up on Peripheral vestibular disorder---and I was shocked to see that most of the symptoms that I have been dealing with as of late relates too well. So...I plan to see a doctor and I will just give him/her a print of the Peripheral vestibular disorder page I found on this site. I'm only 24...and I definitely don't like what's going on here. Pray for me that all goes well with the doctor. I hope that I'm wrong about having this disorder, but after an episode like that, and after what I read on Peripheral vestibular disorder...I think I'm right.
