Sudden onset after 17 years - neurologist or ENGUntil Memorial Day, when we went out in the boat (there was too much traffic on the lack, consequently too much motion), I had not had any vertigo for over 17 years. That's why I was surprised to find that the vertigo I thought would be temporary did not stop once I got off the boat. I've been "on the boat" now since Memorial. A trip to Primed, dock in the box, a steroid shot, meclizine (i think it's called -- antivert) -- but I'm no better.
I can't get in to see an ENG until June 9, and now that the vertigo has gone on for five days, I'm afraid it will go on for weeks like it did 17 years ago. That episode (those episodes, actually) resulted in hearing loss in left ear. Now I feel the pressure in right ear that I'm afraid will lead to more hearing loss. I'm a teacher. Thank goodness school is out. Any suggestions? Does this mean that after 17 years the Meniere's disease is back? What can I do? MSS in Alabama! PS -- Does anyone think I need to go back to Primed to get a diuretic or something before seeing ENG? And do I need to see a neurologist instead of or in addition to ENG? I know everyone out there reading this has just as many symptoms. I apologize for being self-absored. Looking for quick cure-
