EVERYONE HERE : Dont Panic

Post a new topicby sweet peach on Tue Aug 12, 2008 4:19 am

I know its hard not to, during this difficult time. BP can be from mild to severe, short time to long time, but dont panic. I know its fearful, to extremes, wondering if your face will stay that way. You have about a 90% chance that things will go back to normal or almost back to normal so dont panic.YOU HAVE TO LET IT TAKE ITS COURSE : What is its course? It differs, from days to weeks to months, dont dwell on when it will end, you dont know, you cant even guess, or read when it will end, it varies so much, just do what you can right now to keep yourself comfortable. Get losts of extra rest, take very good care of that eye, get meds for BP if you can, stay as stress free as you can. Try to get a cat scan if you can, they tell a lot. REST, AND TAKE CARE OF YOU

and dont panic..... just :: wait :: and let it take its course.

Excellent advice! If I ever have a return of Bell's, I will go right to bed and stay there! I continued on with my life and did not take any extra rest or time for me. I am paying for it now.

I just want to thank you for the positive view. I am 71 and got BP about 2 weeks after you. I find myself tired and laying around all the time. I don't have alot of stress in my life but I did have some at the time it happened. My face isn't drooping as much but the whole side is still bad. I find my eyes very tired (of course I watch to much TV). I do get a little depressed and trying not to. I have a good husband and he is a big help. I take a mild tranquilizer at bedtime as the patch over my eye really freeks me out. Reading your article not to panic will remind me to remain calm. I hope you a fast recovery. Thank you again. Thank you very much for the reassurance Sweet Peach. It was the scariest thing when i woke up two days after the birth of my daughter, to find my face weakened on one side. i have never experienced this before or seen anyone with this disorder. if it weren't for the reassurance of my boyfriend, i would have gone into post-partum depression. i have taken some prednesone and now i'm just waiting for this to go away. it's been a month now since it happened and I'm so ashamed to go out in public or go back to work. but i believe it will go away because it's getting better though my mouth still twist when i speak. Really appreciate your advice. Thanks.
