Sports injury? Right hand tingly after auto racing

Post a new topicby leegf on Fri May 22, 2009 11:18 am

I am an amateur motorsport participant and went auto racing one week ago. I ended up gripping the steering wheel pretty hard for much of the day (in 20 minute intervals), especially with my right hand. As a result (I think), my right hand felt tingly (the feeling of pins and needles) the whole day. I was hoping the feeling would go away after a day or two, but one week later, my hand still feels tingly, although not nearly as bad as before. If 100% is the feeling of a hand or foot falling asleep, my right hand currently feels about 20% (guesstimate).

It's the whole hand - not just one or two fingers. My left hand is fine, my wrist is fine (which leads me to believe it's not CTS-related), the hand isn't numb, and I don't particularly feel any pain (maybe slightly more weak than it used to be, although that could just be my imagination), so I haven't yet gone to the doctor. Still, it seems to me that the hand should be completely fine by now. Did I sustain some kind of damage? Does anyone know what this is? Thanks in advance.
