RSD and Air

Post a new topicby Truth Seeker on Thu Jun 25, 2009 2:52 am

On those days when your pain or burning are really bad, try something unconventional which will not hurt you.
I learned about this purely by accident in the early stages of my RSD
Tired of having to ask others for favours as it relates to grocery shopping etc., I attempted to drive my car, but instantly noticed that I had absolutely no control over my reflexes, in fact, stepping on the gas or break send me into orbit, I never made it out of the driveway, but.....while I was sitting in the car the air blower was set to "floor" and as the air was flowing over my injured foot, where the RSD had started, it felt wonderful.
For the next two days I tried to figure out how I could reproduce this sensation and than I thought of an ordinary household fan.
I placed the fan on a coffee table and than laid down on the couch, placing the foot as save and close as possible to the fan, but than I realised that the air was making the rest of my body feel to cold, however, I corrected this by placing a blanket over the body and leaving only the foot exposed.

The same thing could be tried with a hand, arm or other part of the body, the results might surprise you.

I truly cannot say the same for water, because while laying in the bathtub, I often had disastrous consequences, comparable to someone throwing a plugged in electrical appliance into the tub, while I was in there.
If, you can feel the electricity in your system, avoid water.

When the electricity is back to a relatively normal level, than water can be beneficial, but be cautious.

Strangely enough, wind and water are part of the elements, but than again so is fire, which we most certainly can identify through the burning sensations.
Fire does not always mean flames, but it most certainly pertains to heat or overheating.
