JUST GOT BACK FROM EMERGENCY ROOM AND DR. SD NEUROPATHYHi, I have a few questions, On Christmas I woke up and the bottom of my feet were tingling, numb I did not pay that much attention to it but then when I woke up the next day my feet and legs were completely numb and tingling, then on the 27th I woke up and I was numb and tingling all the way from the bottom of my feet to my stomach and back area, incIuding both arms and hands I went to the emergency room and the Dr. took blood test to check for diabetes then he came back and said he thought it was neuropathy (blood test was ok). Is it normal for it to progress this quickly? I had no other symptoms before Christmas day. The numbness and tingling does not go away I had never heard of neuropathy before. Does this sound like neuropathy? Would it progress this fast?
Thank you
Re: JUST GOT BACK FROM EMERGENCY ROOM AND DR. SD NEUROPATHYI wanted to comment on your subject, I too, have what has been described as neuropathy, I have both arms, tingling, burning, itching on both arms. I do not have any diebetes, high blood pressure, etc. and the strangest thing, this only happens in July or the late fall. It lasts until spring and I did not have it at all in '08, but it began in 2005. I have clawed my arms and it is worse in the evening. The dr. prescribed gabapentin, and it does not work. However, I took it in 2006 and it did work, it was great. In 2007, it did not help the symptoms and it was prescribed this time, a different dosage, and it is worthless. Does anyone have any ideas? I have researced the web and some other prescriptions were recommended such as Tegretol, Lamictal and Mexitil, have these worked for anyone?
I do not have this anywhere but the arms.
