balance problems while drivingHas anyone had problems with feeling off balance while driving? I have been suffering with this for about 10 yrs now. Doctors keep telling me it’s anxiety which it probably is but to me it’s caused by this feeling of unbalance. Especially when the road turns to the right, I feel like I’m falling to the left. It’s just getting worse. I’m going to see an ear specialist next wk. Maybe it’s some form of vertigo but it’s really affecting my life. I use...Read the full article
Re: balance problems while drivingI have the same problem if the road is hilly i find that it like a roller coaster and i to will go to the left. I think it is something with my inner ear. They tell me it could possibly be axienty or phobia bui think it IS fluid or some other type of ear problem. Did your doctor find anything?
Re: balance problems while drivingI have problem of Vertigo and Diziness since 4 years.
I also have problem started last year while driving. I think it is not phobia because when I was in good health then it was not happened. So it went something wrong in my inner ear. I saw lot people are suffering from these. But I saw some people get cure only after Chiropractic treatment. I visited this type of doctor last week in NY. He told that I will get relief after atlest 1 month. I have lot of hopes on this. Thanks.
Re: balance problems while drivinghow did they say it would help you? How does a chiroprator help with the inner ear? did you already go to a ear nose and throat doctor? would it be possible for you to give me the name of the doctor so that i can ask questions and maybe I can find someone in my state?
Re: balance problems while drivingYou won't belive that I tried almost all doctors. ENT in Maine and also in Newyork, Nurology, Cardiology, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic, Allergist, Vision etc.
I visited Chiropractor in NY is Dr. Steven S. Lindner. Basically he said that Spinal Cord is carrying all nurve systems. So If you have stress developed in your body it may dislocate some portion of Spinal. So he is trying to make Spinal and Neck Adjustment. It is painful but it won't hurt as I saw in many websites. He also advised diate with Fish Oil (in tablet form as I am pure veg). Diate should avoid white color items like sugar, rice, salt, milk. Use more fruits, lemon, liquid.... Here you will find some urls as my research. Re: balance problems while drivingHello,
I am sorry that driving has been a difficult task for you. I had the exact same problem. I used to love to get into my car and just drive my kids different places... Sorry I am crying as I write this. I just stopped driving altogether as I feel like everything is off and I am tipping in my car with confusion. People just don't understand what we go through unless they have had this and I wish you all the best and hope for a full recovery for you and all vertigo sufferers. We just have to keep hope that one day we will be cured of this. Take care and let me know if this goes away. Michelle
Re: balance problems while driving(((Your balancing while driving )))is the exact same issue my mother is having. She has been driving for many years and within the last two years she is having a hard time with her balance when driving. She is only 50yrs old. As you mentioned she feels like she's tipping over to the left when turning right, and is at times finding it hard to keep the car straight espcially during turns. She finds she drifts to one direction when driving. It is NOT anxiety as she has never had these issues in her 25yrs of driving and just as you mentioned she only gets scared when it starts happening. Unlike some other responses to your post she doesn't have balance problems when standing or walking, nor does she have chronic dizziness. She has visited an year specialist this week and there is NO inner ear problem, no infection, no fluid issues etc. Based on these factors I don't believe she fits the medical definition of Vertigo. She will be visiting a neurologist soon to see if there could be a nervous system or nerve issue. I will keep you informed on her results please let me know if you find out anything. Please also let me know if your balance outside of driving is fine?
Re: balance problems while drivingYes by balance outside of driving in fine. I hope soon we can find out what causes this I get so mad when doctors think that it just a phobia or anxiety and that is so untrue because i want to drive. Anyway keep me posted and dont let them tell you that it is anxiety....
